Our friendly class donkey, Milagro, is a source of inspiration and the model for the class. In this class each student creates an individual sculpture from start to finish. Students learn how to create an armature to support the creation of a terra cotta clay sculpture. This sculpture can be fired to create a lasting piece of artwork. From beginners to advanced, abstract to more representational, all are welcome!

Though horses often take the spotlight in the equine world, they are by no means the most important. Donkeys and mules are vital to the equine industry and deserve research and care that caters to their specific needs. This course is designed for anyone working with donkeys or mules, from veterinarians and professionals to novice enthusiasts. You will gain practical experience in caring for donkeys and mules through lectures and labs offered in a convenient online format. This course will cover general physiology and behavior, then dive into the specifics of nutrition, pain management, analgesics and disease treatment. By the end of this course, you will have a solid understanding of the care, management and treatment practices that will improve your donkey or mule’s overall health and well-being.

This is an online, remote learning course, which consists of content and curriculum that is taught with pre-recorded and real time lectures, in addition to a real-time Q&A session with the instructor. Pre-recorded lectures and live sessions are accessed via our Canvas learning system and Zoom.
A recording of this course will be available for a limited time for those who are unable to attend the live session. By enrolling in the course you agree to being recorded for the purposes of instruction
The class will be held in real time January 8 - 9, 2022 from 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. PST
